EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW

1. HOWL’s Mission:

We believe sitting next to a fire in the woods is good for people. So we need both: forests and campfires.

And that’s our mission: to keep the forest and the fire alive.

How do we do it?

  1. We invent and manufacture campfire technologies that replicate the real woodfire experience.
  2. We make those technologies burn-ban compliant and a lot safer for forests.
  3. We try to get that technology into as many people’s hands as possible. The more folks switch over from wood, the more chances we have to prevent wildfires. That’s where these review videos come in!

2. What Makes a Great HOWL Review Video?

  1. Start with a strong hook – think about grabbing folks’ attention: the visuals, the voice + sounds, and the text on the screen.
  2. Show more than you tell. Light your HOWL, carry it, strap it down, load it in and out of your rig. Really help people experience it along with you.
  3. Shoot in real environments like the trailhead, your truck bed, a campsite, a dock – wherever you love having your fire.
  4. Speak just like you’re talking to a close friend, one who ‘gets it' and loves the outdoors as much as you do.
  5. End with a single clear takeaway or call to action (e.g. "If you need a big flame but space is at a premium, get the HOWL R1.")

3. What Are Some Hooks You Might Try?

Ideally, you’ll talk to one of the core benefits of your HOWL in the first 3 seconds of your review. Most folks like to focus on:

  1. Actually warm
  2. Extremely portable
  3. Can use it in a burn ban
  4. Durability

Here are some hooks you might try:

  • “Most people just don’t understand just how warm this thing is. We used it on high mountain passes, whiteout blizzards, skiing all season, and here’s what happened.”
  • “I spent $1300/$400 on this campfire. Here’s why.”
  • “My friends ask me to bring this every time I go camping”
  • “This fire pit is the size of a shoebox. But it throws flames like a bonfire.”
  • “This fire pit fits in a backpack and burns all night.”
  • “I lit this thing in a snowstorm at 11,000 feet. Want to see what happened?”
  • “This is the most fuel-efficient fire pit on Earth, and it doesn’t use wood.”
  • “It’s 2025 and I'm still cold when I go camping. Until now.”
  • “I’ve been dealing with fire bans for years. But this changed everything.”
  • “Wait, is this thing even legal during a burn ban? I didn’t believe it either.”
  • “POV: you just finished your hardest (hike, ride, race, hunt) of the year — and this is waiting for you at the trailhead.”
  • “This campfire warms your boots for dawn patrol? Are you kidding me?”
  • “If I could only bring one piece of gear on any trip, this would be it.”
  • “This thing is burlier than most trucks I’ve driven.”
  • “Nobody makes stuff to last 100 years anymore. Except for this. Check it out.”
  • “My friends told me it was overkill. But then they were the ones crowding around it.”
  • “Honestly I bought this to try to meet people at the trailhead. But now rolling solo, I don’t what I’d do without it.”
  • “The most useful piece in my entire camp kit… is this fire pit I swore I didn’t need.”
  • “We used to skip the campfire. But now we stay out later and watch the stars.”
  • “Have you ever seen a fire pit with a stargazing mode? Let me show you.”
  • “This campfire turns strangers into friends, fast. Here’s what I mean.”
  • “We used it to warm up our hands between snowboard laps.”
  • “Backyard? Beach? Basecamp for dawn patrol? Yep. We’ve done all three.”
  • “Hot tip: throw this in your boat. Total game changer.”
  • “It’s the ultimate après setup — no wood, no smoke, and it’s hot in less than three minutes.”
  • “Lightweight. Legal. Legendary.”
  • “Burn-ban approved. Bonfire ready. Let’s go.”
  • “Don’t bring this if you’re trying to go to bed early.”

4. What's That Part Called? Here's a Glossary of Product Terms

HOWL R1

  • A-Flame Burner – The brightest, cleanest flame ever created. When you were a kid, you probably put two lighters together and got a freakishly tall flame. This is kind of like that, times 160. The 160 micro-emitters build a towering flame with less fuel. The domed burner plate is precision shaped to shed water rapidly and keep your fire burning in a downpour.
  • FlexDome Windscreen – This proprietary horizontal windscreen keeps your flames protected from the wind, but without hiding them behind the walls of a box or a bowl like most traditional fire pits. The FlexDome Windscreen uses laminar separation to keep the wind sliding over the top, while the pocket of air below stays calm to feed the flame. When heated, the metal screen naturally flexes upward to create a larger air pocket that builds a taller flame – without requiring more fuel.
  • Mission Control Knob – This US-made brass ball valve has been lab tested to show no wear after 40,000 actuations, giving you ultimate control for life. When you want the flame on, it’s on. When you want it off, it’s off.
  • LP Quick Connect – We don’t screw with threaded connections here. Just pull the cuff, plug it in, and you’re ready to rip.
  • Propane Quick Connect Hose – The included 8-foot hose snaps to the HOWL R1 and screws snug to your tank for a leakless fit. The red knob on the hose offers extremely fine pressure adjustment from 0 - 5 psi, so you can dial in the exact flame height you want.
  • Press Brake Frame – The R1’s exoskeleton protects your campfire from a dust-up with a dirt road. It starts as a single plate of steel, which we cut to shape with a fiber laser, then bend to form with a hydraulic press brake. This bad Larry isn’t built for a landfill, it’s built for a lifetime.
  • Gullwing Folding Legs – The R1's Gullwing legs flip out for a steady stance at camp, then fold in for tight packing – either strapped to the tank or separate.
  • StrapLock Slots – Strap in and haul ass. With two slots on the Windscreen and two on the Skid Plate, you have options to lock in your tank to the HOWL and lock them both to your rig so that contents never shift during flight.
  • Rally Stand – Turn the R1 on end and you’ll find a perfectly flat platform for stabilizing the tank when both are strapped together.
  • Skid Plate – The R1’s undercarriage is fitted with four rubber anti-slip grips to hold your tank tight.
  • Burn Ban Approved – The R1 is tested and certified by third party scientific laboratories (UL) to meet all international safety standards. It is approved for use in burn bans up to Stage II in all 50 US States, Canada, and a growing number of other countries. Just check your local regulations

HOWL R4

  • BarCoal Burners – Two of em, one on each side delivering thigh-melting radiant heat. The reason a wood fire makes you so warm is the coals, and these beauties do the exact same thing, shooting out rays of infrared light that your body readily absorbs as heat. In just three minutes they’re cranking at max temp, so you get warm way sooner than you would building a wood fire.
  • EchoHeat Reflector Shields – Even though the BarCoals are ripping at 1,200ºF, the ground below stays perfectly cool. That’s because the echoheat reflector shields focus the heat right where you want it (your body, seated in a camp chair) and nowhere else. This is why you can have real wood fire heat on surfaces you never could – your back deck, the dock, the roof of your rig, or the bow of your boat.
  • A-Flame Burner – The brightest, cleanest flame ever created. 160 micro-emitters build a towering flame with less fuel. The domed burner plate is shaped to rapidly shed water and keep your flame burning in a downpour.
  • Mission Control Knobs – These US-made brass ball valves have been lab tested to show no wear after 40,000 actuations, giving you ultimate control for life. When you want a burner on, it’s on. When you want it off, it’s off.
  • Stargazing Mode – The HOWL is the only propane fire pit on earth with three different modes. With A-Flame on for light plus the BarCoal on for heat, that’s Campfire Mode, it’s just like a woodfire. Running just the A-Flame when you want light with less heat, that’s Lantern Mode, exactly what you get from traditional propane fires. Running just the BarCoals without the A-Flame gives you dark heat, like at the end of a wood fire when you have a bed of coals keeping you warm. Your eyes adjust to the dark, you look up, and bam. That’s Stargazing Mode.
  • LP Quick Connect – We don’t screw with threaded connections here. Just pull the cuff, plug it in, and you’re ready to rip.
  • Propane Quick Connect Hose – The included 8-foot hose snaps to the HOWL R4 and screws snug to your tank for a leakless fit. The red knob on the hose offers extremely fine pressure adjustment from 0 - 5 psi, so you can dial in the exact flame height you want. Just pay attention, running the BarCoals with too little pressure is disappointing.
  • Press Brake Frame – The R4’s exoskeleton protects your campfire from a dust-up with a dirt road. It starts as a single plate of steel, which we cut to shape with a fiber laser, then bend to form with a hydraulic press brake and weld for reinforcement. This bad Larry isn’t built for a landfill, it’s built for a lifetime.
  • StrapLock Slots – Strap in and haul ass. With two slots for the tank and two for your vehicle tie-downs, your HOWL and tank are locked in and ready for flight. Or, you know, drive as slow as you want.
  • Rally Stand – Turn the R4 on end and you’ll find a perfectly flat platform for stabilizing the tank when both are strapped together.
  • Skid Plate – The R4’s undercarriage is fitted with four rubber anti-slip grips to hold your tank tight.
  • Burn-Ban Approved: The R4 is tested and certified by third party scientific laboratories (UL) to meet all international safety standards. It is approved for use in burn bans up to Stage II in all 50 US States, Canada, and a growing number of other countries. Just check your local regulations.
